#Giveaway: Share, Love, Celebrate the Best of P&G #sponsored

Growing up you never really take notice of the brands that your family bought. Sure, you may remember the names of the products, but never really the brand. As children we don’t think about the products that are in our everyday lives, we just know they are there.

One company that always comes to mind for me is P&G. One product in particular that I always remember being in our home is Olay. My Mother used Olay products and back then, there wasn’t a ton of different products like they have today. She always used Oil of Olay. I can still see it on the bathroom shelf where she placed it after religiously slathering it on her face and neck every morning and every night before bed.

Guess that made an impression on me, take a look at what is inside my bathroom cabinet;

I adore Olay products and have been using them, thanks to my Mother’s influence, since I was in my mid 20′s. I have been using them for so long, and with awesome results, that I couldn’t even imagine using anything else! That also brings to mind other P&G products that I couldn’t live without…

CoverGirl Makeup! In particular, the pressed powder. I have been using their face powder for about 25 years, and definitely would lose it if I couldn’t find it any longer. It is the only powder that matches my skin and stays put!

In recent years I have loved learning about and trying new products from the P&G line; I love and use Swiffer, Febreze, and Venus almost everyday. I have become reliant on them because I know they work and they make my life a little easier. One of my favorites is Febreze, I think I have products in all of the rooms of my house!

So tell me, what P&G products have you been using for years and just couldn’t live without? I’m sure once you take a look around your home you will be surprised at how many you have. I think most of us use products that our Mother’s did, so because we know that our Mother’s loved them, we purchase the same products for our households.

#Giveaway: HGTV #lovehome #sponsored

HGTV contacted me to share the following information about their #LoveHome initiative and to offer a giveaway.

The word “home” can mean a lot of things to a lot of different people. As leaders in home improvement, HGTV wants to dive deeper into the concept of “Home” and find out exactly what this phrase means to you. Home is your city. Home is your family, your friends, or your favorite neighborhood hangout. It’s more than just an address. It’s the place you fall in love with – over and over again.

HGTV is one of my favorite channels, from House Hunters, to Love It or List it, I love all the shows. I also love my home and love the ideas I get from watching all of the great shows. HGTV would like people to show them what home means to them by sharing pictures on Instagram and Twitter using the tag #lovehome & #HGTV. All you have to do is capture the moments; birthdays, pets, backyard get-together’s, etc., and share your favorite photos and you might even see them on HGTV.

#Giveaway: Talking Ginger Birthday Party Giveaway Bash! #GingersBirthday

Guess who’s having a birthday? Talking Ginger is!

If you are an app fanatic, then you already know who Ginger is, and you may have also met his Talking Friends; Tom, Angela, Ben, and Gina, just to name a few, he’s popular, so he has a lot of friends.

I first saw Talking Ginger when my husband was playing with the app. I absolutely fell in love with him! It’s just so cute and interactive, especially when he repeats everything you say, we were literally crying from laughing so hard.

My kids also love Ginger and so we are happy to be able to help celebrate his big birthday!

We were sent a Ginger Superstar Plus toy, plus other goodies to help celebrate here in our home. First off, it is adorable, he looks just like the app. When you turn him on he makes that familiar cuckoo sound that you’ll recognize from the app. Once you turn him on, go to your phone and launch the app and go into your settings to switch to the “Superstar Toys” options so the app and the Talking Ginger can interact. Now all you have to do is Play!

Spring is finally here, I think so anyway This means I start going on a Spring cleaning binge, not only cleaning my house, but also my pantry. I always get the urge to try new foods around this time of year, and to revamp my dinner menu.

If you love pizza like my family does, then Pillsbury Artisan Pizza Crust with Whole Grain (16 grams per serving), is the product you.

Check out some of these delicious recipes using Pillsbury Artisan Pizza Crust:

Pear and Gorgonzola Pizza

2 teaspoons olive oil

1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)1 firm ripe pear, cut in half, cut into 1/4-inch slices (1 cup)1 can (13.8 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated artisan pizza crust with whole grain6 oz provolone cheese, shredded (1 1/2 cups)

3/4 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese (3 oz)

2 cups loosely packed baby spinach

Heat oven to 400°F for dark or nonstick pan (425°F for all other pans). Spray 15×10-inch pan with sides with cooking spray.

Heat 10-inch skillet over medium heat. Add oil and onion; cook about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until onion is softened and starting to brown. Reserve 1/2 cup pear. Stir remaining pear into onion. Cook 2 minutes, stirring frequently.

Unroll dough in pan; starting at center, press dough into 15×10-inch rectangle. Bake about 8 minutes or until light brown.

Evenly top crust with provolone cheese. Top with pear mixture and Gorgonzola cheese.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes longer or until crust is golden brown and cheese is melted. Top with spinach and reserved 1/2 cup pear slices. To serve, cut into 6 rows by 3 rows.

Chicken Pesto Pizza

1 can (13.8 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated artisan pizza crust with whole grain

1/2 cup refrigerated basil pesto (from 7-oz container)

2 cups shredded reduced-fat mozzarella cheese or Italian cheese blend (8 oz)

1 cup shredded cooked chicken breast

2 large plum (Roma) tomatoes, thinly sliced

Fresh basil leaves, if desired

Heat oven to 400°F for dark or nonstick pan (425°F for all other pans). Spray 15×10-inch pan with sides with cooking spray.

Unroll dough in pan; starting at center, press dough into 15×10-inch rectangle. Bake about 8 minutes or until light brown.

Spread pesto to within 1/2 inch of edges of crust. Top with 1 1/2 cups of the cheese, the chicken and tomatoes; sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cheese.

Bake 5 minutes longer or until edges of crust are golden brown and cheese is melted. Sprinkle with basil. To serve, cut into 6 rows by 3 rows.

BEJEWELED Board Game Review and Giveaway! #HasbroGameNight

Are you a fan of BEJEWELED online? If you are, then you NEED to get the new BEJEWELED Board Game from Hasbro! I received the game to review last week and my family has been playing it non-stop! The last few nights we have made it an after-dinner must!

Let me preface this entire review by saying that I am a BEJEWELED fanatic, I have been playing the digital version for years and am obsessed with it. When I saw that they made a board game out of it I was a little wary as to how it would translate. I am so used to the online game, and wasn’t so sure I could play the board version………I was so wrong!

I have a new obsession! One that is even better because my kids can play with me. I even got the 14-year-old to come out of his room long enough to play! Score!

The game comes with the game board, a bag, 70 scoring coins, 84 three-dimensional gems, and 7 three-dimensional power gems that have glitter inside. It also comes with an exclusive code for BEJEWELED 3 app for even more fun on the go.

To play, you need to separate out the power (glitter) gems and place them in the bag. Take the remaining gems and fill the game board making sure you don’t match three in a row anywhere. Place the remaining gems into the blue bag, and you are ready to play.

The first player tries to make a match by swapping gems to make 3, 4 or 5 gems in a row of the same color, just like the online version. Once you have made a match, you remove the gems from the board and collect a coin that matches the same color. You get one coin for 3 of the same color, two coins for 4 and three coins for a match of 5. If you get a power gem, you get an extra coin.

Then to finish your turn, you push the gems away from your side of the game board, if you make another match, you get those too. Fill up the gaps on the board with the extra gems in the bag, and put the gems you removed into the bag.

The first person to collect 3 scoring sets of coins wins!

We had so much fun playing BEJEWELED as a family. It’s funny how your brain kicks in like it does when you play online, you start seeing matches and where to make new ones almost immediately. I love that it helps my kids strategize and keep them on their toes. Better yet, the game is so fun, no one gets upset at not winning, we just play again until they do

This is a definite Game Night staple!
